The Palms is beautiful. Its located on the Esplanade directly opposite the water. Its absolutely quiet and not in the noise and mayhem of Mitchell Street. The rooms are surrounded by palm trees and it feels like you're in a tropical paradise. I stayed in a garden bungalow and it was clean, comfortable and had kichenette facilities. Despite being right next to the pool it was never noisy. The air-conditioning and overhead fan were quiet. Definitely book here again. While it might be more expensive than some of the places on Mitchell St etc youre you're missing out on the noise that will keep you up all night! And I'd also prefer this place over the more sterile chain hotels. There's a 24/7 reception and staff were friendly and helpful.

Where do I begin. Everything was excellent. Beautiful clean rooms. Bathroom was spotlessly clean too! Buffet breakfast was magnificent. We ate there every morning as it was so easy and had everything you would need. Delicious! Fantastic location, a short 5 minute walk from the street, shopping etc., and also the wharf where we dined every night. Also the location across from the park and water was not only beautiful but very quiet. One last thing. I so enjoyed the company of the two little feathered friends that live on site. Pickles the parrot and Brick the chicken. They made my day 😊😊😊 We didn’t want to leave. I will be back again when I visit Darwin next time.

What an amazing oasis in the heart of Darwin and yet so quiet… Just stayed 1 night but will definitely be back… Met the fantastic Mr. Pickles at reception.. he’s the pet parrot who hangs out there..😁.. We had booked a room but the Balinese style huts looked wonderful.. Next time… our room was absolutely pristine..spotless… If I had to pick it would be nice to have a toaster in the room but that didn’t take away from how beautiful this hotel is… Breakfast was included with our stay and it was really good.. it wasn’t very hot(buffet style) but there was a great selection available… Really loved staying here…

We loved the whole resort. The rooms were clean and tidy with small balcony to sit on in evenings, Lovely hot shower, perhaps bathroom a little on small side, but adequate unless you wanted to party in it!!! Bed really comfy, tea and coffee facilities, also microwave and fridge. Breakfast available for $20.00 per person per day if booked day before. Nice pool with bar from 2-0 to 6-0pm. Very central for everything in Darwin, foreshore, Waterfront, shops etc. All set in beautiful grounds with palm trees and plants with small bungalows in gardens which are another option for staying here.

Stephen

Recently renovated with all comforts, the rooms are spacious and well equipped (in ours there was even an extra single bed). Appreciated the presence of a fridge with 2 complimentary bottles of water and products for making coffee in the morning. Clean room and bathroom, comfortable beds and perfect air conditioning. We didn't try the pool but it was inviting, also provided two towels for the pool. Staff friendly and helpful, sometimes you even meet a little mascot in reception.
