Palms City Resort

The hotel was very comfortable and has beautifully appointed rooms, with lovely grounds. The location was wonderful, with most major attractions within easy walking distance. We enjoyed how relaxing and calm the whole hotel felt- definitely was a fantastic place to stay!

The bar/pool tender, front of house staff and grounds men were exceptional in their friendliness and helpfulness. The housekeeping staff were lovely but we had a few minor communication problems. The reception area, pool and gardens were excellent. We appreciated the laundry facilities. The location was superb. The hotel is right on the water and easily accessible to bus terminus, Parliament House, the waterfront, Darwin Hotel, tourist agency etc.

The location and surroundings are fantastic. It really doesn't feel like you're in the CBD, but rather a tropical island paradise! The gardens are just beautiful, and the rooms are thoughtfully designed. We have stayed in all room types (hotel, bungalow and villa) and all are well-appointed and comfortable. For this booking, we agreed the plunge pool (spa) is worth splashing out for if you plan to mostly relax in private, as we did toward the end of our 2-week NT holiday. Otherwise, the main pool is also very relaxing, if at times busy. We found there isn't generally a party-type crowd staying here, so it's pretty quiet, and the cocktails at the pool bar are great. Staff are always friendly, and we love Pickles the parrot, of course! We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Darwin.

We loved our Garden Villa. Nestled amongst glorious tropical greenery, with our our private deck and 1 min walk to the splendid pool, our modern and very well equipped villa was the perfect oasis. Our bed was very comfortable, and the 'kitchen' had a decent sized fridge, microwave, and everything else that you might want. The bathroom and shower were terrific ! Every staff member.. including those on reception and those making cocktails at the pool bar, were cheerful, helpful, and knowledgeable . Excellent position,near the gardens and coast.

We had a great stay at Palms City. The staff were all really helpful and nothing too much trouble. We stayed in one of the rooms in the main buildings, which was quite sizeable with all you need, good air con and nice clean bathroom and a handy outdoor seating area. .The swimming pool and surrounds is a welcome refresher after a day's sightseeing and has a bar too. The location is excellent, close to bars and restaurants and the attractions on Mitchell st, but also quite walkable to the harbour area. Breakfast has loads of choice and if you pre-book very good value at 20 dollars. Overall we were very impressed and pleased with our choice.
